On completion of 100 years since establishment of Gujarat Vidyapith (founded by Mahatma Gandhi), a proposal to build an academic centre at the heart of the campus is proposed. The Gandhi Heritage Centre (GHC) is to replace an existing, dilapidated structure and form an annexe to an existing building.
